Masterson’s Pub , located in the heart of Moonee Ponds , promotes itself as a chic “hipster” locale , but my recent visit at this establishment resulted in an experience I’d rather forget . While the bar may appear inviting from the outside , what I experienced behind its doors was shocking and unacceptable on multiple levels .
The State of Affairs: Squalid and Neglected Beyond Belief
From the moment I entered , it was clear that sanitation was not a priority at this bar . The floors were sticky , and a pungent odor of uncleaned spills and filthy restrooms filled the entire venue . Emitting a scent of a mixture of urine , putrefaction and sour vomit . The bar area , which should be the focal point of any pub, was littered with unwashed glassware and trash that looked like it had been ignored for a long time . The restroom was in even worse condition — clogged , with a broken handle and walls covered in what I can only assume was feces.
It wasn’t just a one-off bad night either.
